Safari Packing List

Many say that going on a safari is a once in a lifetime experience, and when we took our first trip, we thought that would be the case for us as well!

On our journey over, we met a couple in the Johannesburg airport that told us they had come for a Once In A Lifetime trip in the 80s and had been back every year since.  After that first trip, we now understand why, and have made it our mission to continue traveling back to Africa on Safari and share the experience with our nieces and nephews.

When we went on our first safari, I spent hours scouring the Internet for a complete safari packing list! Because I knew we would be in the middle of the bush, where even a credit card can't save you, I wanted to share my tried and true safari packing list!

A few things to remember when packing for a safari:
- pack layers, the temperatures often swing throughout the day
- wear neutral colors like browns, greens, and tans
- you don’t need to pack a lot, most safari lodges include laundry service and do your laundry daily so you don’t have to pack a lot
- use packing cubes to help stay organized while packing / this is a great backpack too!
- bring a hat with a string
